Hey iMoogle!
Great site you have here.
I currently own a Hauppauge HD-PVR. When I first bought this device I only had intentions to capture footage and upload them to Youtube, preferably. However, recently I've been introduced to stream sites like justin.tv and I was immediately interested. Not long after that I found your channel (and many others, of course), but only you were willing to help your needy viewers.
Now. What I need help or info with. After much research and frustration, I've found, possibly, the best way to output/broadcast with an HD-PVR. The method, however, I'm not a big fan of. This requires that I use VH Screen Capture and crop out the playback through TotalMedia Extreme (the software that HD-PVR uses as a playback player). Now this wouldn't be such a big issue if the playback didn't ALREADY have a delay. I know that with every playback player, there WILL be a delay. There is simply no way around it. I want to minimize the delays to strictly only the looped output (real-time) to the time it takes for it to be broadcasted live, if that makes any sense. So now I'll have a delay from real-time to playback and then the additional delay it takes to be broadcasted. That's a lot of delay! Directly having FME recognize or use HD-PVR will NOT work. It will give me an error that reads "Device in use or not working." Something of that nature.
With Intensity Pro though, will the method be the same way? Will I have to crop out the playback and THEN have that broadcast, or can I get real-time gameplay footage straight into FME? You told me earlier that you don't recommend using ONLY FME with Intensity Pro, so what set-up are you using now? What resolution are you streaming in, or what is your output resolution? What kind of delay are you getting between real-time to broadcast time?
Sorry for such a long post. Wish you the best. Thanks!
EDIT: After some more research, I think I've figured out and answer most of the questions I asked. I believe the only real questions I have now are;
What bit rate do you run at with what kind of upload speed?
What kind of delays do you get while broadcasting?
