Yes, yet another BMI thread.
I just got my BMI in the mail yesterday, (after a long three week wait for them to ship FROM NJ, to my address IN NJ, lol?).
Opened it up, busted it in, and disappointed at the sight of a black screen mocking me.
First off let me tell you might setup and what I'm rockin' (it may help).
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel Core i7 860
4GB DDR3 RAM
160GB Harddrive (I know, pathetic).
NVIDIA GTX260
EVGA P55 FTW Motherboard
750Watt Power Supply
Now that, that's out of the way lets get to the issue at hand.
I bought this BMI with the intention of recording my Xbox360 games to make montages, game guides, tutorials, whatever you can think of video related basically.
I'm rockin' the;
Xbox 360 > HDMI Cable > BMI HDMI IN.
BMI > HDMI OUT > HDMI Cable > HD 1080p ViewSonic Monitor.
I have checked my input/output they ARE in the correct slots, firmly in place, checked all around.
Both HDMI cables are functional, I have already tested each individually.
I have installed the drivers that came with the CD, aswell as those online, I also UN-installed them, RE-installed them to see if anything might happen; no luck.
I thought my out/in on the BMI might be faulty, before I jump to conclusions I decided to remove the BMI from the x1 slot, and moved it to a 8x slot.
Windows detected the BMI immediately and prompted me to install the drivers (which I already had installed).
From there I tried again with the HDMI/HDMI setup, no luck.
I then decided to try the same just with a component IN, and an HDMI OUT.
Once again, BLACK SCREEN.
What I found odd though, my monitor is designed to revert back to whatever is giving off a signal if it cannot detect one in a certain slot such as the HDMI slot.
So if there was no HDMI cable and I decided to switch the monitor display, it would revert back to the DVI computer screen by default.
The monitor DID NOT revert back to the DVI computer screen, instead it stood there, a bright-like black screen just SITTING THERE TAUNTING ME! ARGH!
I have changed my settings according to my friends recommendations considering they use the same exact setup as the one I'm trying to get to work.
I took their advice and adjusting the settings accordingly, once again no luck.
I've tested each of the options on Media Express, and the BMI control panel, it is all set according to the technology I'm using (I think).
My Xbox360 IS set to 720p (what I'm trying to record in), I've double, triple, and even QUADRUPOLE checked to make sure 720p was enabled and it indeed was.
I'm on the verge of insanity, please if you have any recommendations, tips, tricks, advice, anything that can ease my pain with this forsaken piece of technology that continues to neglect me in every way, shape or form PLEASE post it!
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
